A Message From The Pastor

And just like that it's March! Can you believe it?

February was a great month in the church. I so enjoyed the Valentine's Day Banquet! The decorations, the cake and of course all the wonderful food made for an excellent night! Thank you to the Hospitality Committee for all your hard work.

Another February milestone was the Business Meeting. Together we made some decisions about the Bank Building. We voted to keep the building and renovate. We decided not to incur any debt and to raise the necessary funds ourselves believing that where God guides, He provides! We are organizing a fundraising committee and will be starting on demolition inside the bank quite soon.

March, of course, features the Annual Chili Cook-Off! On the evening of March 16th, beginning at 6pm, the chili chefs in the congregation will be bringing their entry for the contest. This is always a great time. Please plan on attending and consider bringing your favorite side like cornbread, chili toppings and crackers!

This year the annual Easter Eggstravaganza will be held on March 28th. This community event is always very popular. Your help is greatly appreciated. Please see Joni Rubion for more information. If you don't know Joni then come see me and I'll introduce you!

As a church we are using March to prepare the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus.

challenged the church at the end of February to memorize Psalm 51.

I know it's long...19 verses! But it's worth the effort.

    Psalm 51:1-6

1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!

3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.

4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment.

5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

6 Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.

    God bless, Pastor Rob
