And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians. 5:12-18
November is upon us. For the first time in many, many months the morning temperatures outside are actually cooler than the temperature inside the air-conditioned house. Leaves are changing color and falling off the trees and frozen turkeys have appeared in the grocery stores. And I am excited! This is my favorite time of year!
The apostle Paul gives some great encouragement to the church in Thessalonica and in Seabrook; Rejoice always, pray without ceasing and give thanks in all circumstances.
I have found that the only possible way to rejoice always is to walk daily with the Lord. Without daily bible reading and worship I find myself struggling with rejoicing always.
If you’re struggling with rejoicing always, work on your time with God.
Praying without ceasing is quite a challenge! However, of this I am certain: if you focus on your prayer time you will get closer to praying without ceasing than you are today!
And of course, we are reminded to give thanks in all circumstances. You might have heard it said (I know I’ve preached on this) “develop an attitude of gratitude.” This past year has given us many opportunities to give thanks in all circumstances.
We’ve gone through the peaks and the valleys of 2025 and I can truly say, “I am grateful!”.
I am grateful for you!
The highlight of November on the church calendar is the annual Thanksgiving potluck. We will gather together on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (the 25th of November) and give thanks and enjoy a great time of food and fellowship.
Please attend and invite your friends and family!
God Bless, Pastor Rob
