MAY I ASK YOU?

The most important day on the Christian calendar is not Christmas, it’s Easter.

Philippians 3:10… that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.

Because of the power of Jesus’ resurrection, the apostle Paul had confidence in Jesus and could rejoice in the Lord. Because of the power of Jesus’ resurrection, Paul could challenge all believers to rejoice in the Lord and to value above all else the knowledge of Christ, counting everything else as worthless in comparison.

John 11:25-26... Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.

Jesus asked Martha a simple, direct question; “Do you believe this?” She responded with “Yes, Lord, I believe…” May I ask you? Do you believe?

We will be hosting the annual Easter Eggstravaganza on April 8th. We will have the opportunity to fellowship with our neighbors, play games, pet animals and enjoy some good food. More importantly, we will have the opportunity to share the message of Easter. Please consider volunteering or attending!

You will have several opportunities to invite folks to come worship during the Easter season. We will have an awesome Palm Sunday celebration at both services on Sunday the 2nd of April. The Good Friday Service on the 7th of April at 7pm is one of my favorite services of the year. Then on Easter Sunday, the 9th of April, we will have our Sunrise Service in the south parking lot at 7am and then one Family service in the Sanctuary at 11am.

This is an exciting time of the year in the life of the church. We are experiencing a time of blessing in many ways. I want to caution us all to not let us get distracted by the blessings. It’s easy to focus on the growth and sweet spirit in worship and fellowship and forget that the reason we are seeing all this is our focus on Jesus and His gospel.

Hebrews 12:1-2… Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

    God bless, Pastor Rob
