NUMBERS

I could not be more thankful and humbled by the events here at church.  The Palm Sunday service, led by John Mayes, was awesome!  The kids serving as the Welcome Committee made the day even more special and I hope we will see even more involvement from the kids moving forward!  The Good Friday service was well attended and is always one of my favorite services of the year.  We left the Sanctuary Friday evening singing, “Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb."

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the Sunrise Service.  The youth had a lock-in Saturday night (six accepted Christ!) and were kind enough to set up 50 chairs or so outside.  It turned out that 50 was about half of what we needed!  How awesome is that!  Around 100 of us met the Risen Savior as the sun rose!

The regular Easter services were also very well attended and I felt a special presence of the Holy Spirit in the sanctuary.  Worship happened.  Praise the Lord!!!!!!  He is Risen, He is Risen, indeed!

    80. That’s the number of kids currently registered for our VBS that doesn’t start until June 13th, almost eight weeks away! Wow!  If you haven’t already started, please pray daily for VBS.  Pray for the leaders, volunteers and assistants, and the Food Crew!  Pray for the kids!  Pray for their families!  Pray for our witness as we seek to glorify the Lord through VBS! And…If you have not registered your kids, you better hurry up before every class is full!

I know that we are about to get really busy.  All of us are looking at our calendars lamenting the fact that already most of the days of summer are filled.  I know that my calendar is extremely full.  Before we launch into all that busyness may I encourage you and your family to remember to take time for the Lord?  Prioritize worship.  As we have learned as we study our way through Ecclesiastes on Wednesday nights, most of what we chase after, most of the busy in our lives, are for things the Bible calls “vanity”.  Things that seem important now, today, but will soon pass away.  The one thing truly worthy of our time, the one thing we actually NEED, is often the first thing we drop from the busy calendar.  We need worship, church, fellowship, and time with Jesus!  Amen?

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.  Hebrews 10:25

The brightly colored flowers at the church entrance and beautiful plants in the beds are a sure declaration that Spring is here, and summer is coming.  I absolutely cannot wait to see what the Lord is going to do here, through you, next!

    God bless, Pastor Rob
