Stand Firm Church! You Are Free To Follow Christ

    Happy Birthday, America!  

    250 years seems like a long time until you compare it to other nations around the world.  250 years isn’t long at all!

    A restaurant in the small town of Plittersdorf, Germany where I lived as a Marine was in a building built in 1419!  250 years is not long for a nation at all.  

    America, however, is more than a nation. 

    It’s an experiment.  

    President Lincoln, in his Gettysburg address, said this, “Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.”

    The nation he was referring to is the United States. He then applies the idea to any nation. The conception and dedication he’s referring to is the Declaration of Independence. 

    “We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”  

    The Idea of America is still being tested. 

    Freedom, Liberty, particularly, religious freedom and liberty, are constantly being challenged. If we are not diligent, we will lose them. A multifaceted cultural, religious, political assault on the Christian foundation of America rages.

    Gal 5:1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

    Stand firm, church! 

    Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself.

    You are free to follow Christ!  

    Please pray for our children and youth this month. They will be attending Camp. Also, pray for the adult chaperones! I am believing that God will move mightily in their lives!

    Also, be praying for the start of the fundraising campaign for the bank building. The campaign will start soon. I am looking forward to the day that the building is renovated and we are living out our call to fellowship and discipleship in a space designed for that purpose.
