Acts 1:8… But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
As I write this we are still recovering from our VBS. The building is almost back to normal, most of the teachers and volunteers have caught up on their rest, and the kids have moved on to the next summer adventure.
Successful is an understatement regarding VBS.
Under the prayed-for guidance of the Holy Spirit, Ashley and her stellar band of volunteers presented a nearly flawless week of gospel fun to 120 or so well -fed kids and their families!
I want to caution you to not measure VBS by the number of decisions for Christ or baptisms. One of the 16 decisions or seven baptisms may turn out to be the next Billy Graham!
How do you measure that?
A sincere and heartfelt “Thank you” to all who participated!
I wrote “most teachers and volunteers” because this morning (6/21/24) a team of eleven missionaries left our church for Puerto Rico. Nearly all the team were part of our VBS. In fact, our VBS served as training for the VBS they will be presenting in Puerto Rico! Pray for these brothers in sisters in Christ as they share the gospel (in Spanish!) to the residents of Vieques, Puerto Rico!
The mission focus during VBS was Bethlehem Land in Senegal. We have made a 3-year commitment to focus on realizing the vision of a self-sustained agricultural ministry with a worship center, school and clinic. Please continue to pray as Bethlehem Land navigates the challenges of a Christian ministry in an impoverished Muslim majority nation!
Seabrook - Puerto Rico - Senegal - Jerusalem - Judea - Samaria - the ends of the earth. This is what it looks like when the church is obedient.
Summer is a great time to plan for your mission field. Are you called locally to host a Bible study or start a small group? Has the Lord placed a state on your heart or a North American country? What about somewhere internationally? The Great Commission is for all of us!
Looking forward to helping you all realize your calling in Missions!
God bless, Pastor Rob
