Would you have a hard time believing me if I told you something unbelievable?
Did you know that Superman calls and texts my phone multiple times per day? It is true, and I even have proof! My notification list is amazing!
I always know when Superman calls or texts me because his logo pops up on my phone screen. Right now, I do not have a matching ring tone, but maybe just for fun I will get one.
Okay… full disclosure… Superman’s phone number matches my husband’s phone number. Yes… my husband is Superman! He may not be the fictional character from Krypton, but he is my Superman.
You can tell a lot about a person based on their cell phone contact list and notifications. The funniest notification I ever heard was from a phone tucked in a friend’s purse that suddenly chimed, “Let me out! Let me out!” One day I was near a phone that rang with music from the 1960’s movie Psycho, and when asked about it, the person said the call was coming from an ex-girlfriend. Another friend has a ring tone that sounds like the trumpet call of the rapture. It is always a reminder that Jesus is coming back.
It would be awesome if Jesus sent a text right before He returned, but we all know that is not going to happen. This is the reason why we rely on the Word of God.
Matthew 24:3-8: “As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.”
Matthew 24:36-44: “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore, you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
We have been notified! Jesus is coming back… we do not know the day and hour, but we do know the signs. Jesus said that we should not be alarmed because these must take place.
Last night, the weather forecast announced that a storm is already brewing in the gulf. The weatherman also announced that there will be at least 20 named storms this season. Oh no! But wait! Why should we fear? Jesus said this would happen. Increased natural disasters, including hurricanes, are the birth pains that notify and remind us that Jesus is coming soon. Rejoice as you gather your hurricane supplies and notify everyone around you…
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” ~ John 3:16-17.
This is how God chose to save the world. And just in case you did not know… God’s phone number is Jeremiah 33:3…
“Call to me and I will answer you and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”
You can take Him at His word. He always answers and He always keeps His promises!
Remember this, you are loved, and you are always in my prayers.
In Christ, Cheryl
