Finally, we’ve had a bit of winter temperatures!
A big thank you to the deacons and facilities team for winterizing all our buildings before the cold front. Also, thank you to all those who made it possible to hold in-person services and made the livestream available.
I believe that FBC Seabrook was the only open church on Sunday the 25th of January!
With January in the rearview mirror, it’s time to look ahead to February.
Preparations are being made for the annual Valentine’s Day Banquet. This year is going to be a bit different than in previous years; the banquet is going to be an Italian-themed potluck! Keep an eye out for announcements and registration information in the weeks to come.
The banquet will be held on Wednesday evening, February 11th.
We recently hosted Injoy Stewardship Solutions for an informational presentation on fundraising for the renovation of the bank building. The meeting was well-attended and we learned a lot.
I’ve asked the church to be in a time of focused prayer as we get close to the February 22nd Quarterly Business Meeting. We will most likely be voting on how to proceed at this meeting.
This is important, and worthy of both your prayers and your time.
Spring Soccer Season #2 is quickly approaching for the Upward Sports ministry. Evaluations: February 7th; Season Begins: March 21st.
Registration is already open! Don’t miss this opportunity for your kids to participate in a sports program that seeks to honor the Lord. Sign-ups and information are available in the church hallway.
I just returned from a trip to the Seattle area. While there, I had the opportunity to share my faith in Christ with a few folks in some very odd circumstances. I was challenged by the culture in Seattle.
I spent some time in the Word and the Holy Spirit directed me to 2 Corinthians, particularly Chapter 5.
I was reminded why I should be sharing Christ:
2 Corinthians 5:18–20 "All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."
We’ve been entrusted with a message by God. Let’s be sure to share it!
God bless, Pastor Rob
