Why is the resurrection of Jesus Christ important?

1 Cor 15:3-4 - For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures….

We begin the month with the celebration of the most significant moment in the history of the world, the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Because of the resurrection we can, with all certainty, believe in God's absolute power over life and death.

The resurrection is the triumphant and glorious victory for every believer. Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). And He is coming again! The dead in Christ will be raised up, and those who are alive at His coming will be changed and receive new, glorified bodies (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18).

Why is the resurrection of Jesus Christ important?

It proves who Jesus is. It demonstrates that God accepted Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf. It shows that God has the power to raise us from the dead. It guarantees that the bodies of those who believe in Christ will not remain dead but will be resurrected unto eternal life.

    HE IS RISEN!

Congratulations to Joni Rubion as the Champion of the 19th Annual Chili Cook-Off! The judges chose Joni’s chili over 13 other competitors. However, 3rd place winner, Rachel Kerry, was chosen by the people as this year’s recipient of the People’s Choice Award! It was, by all measures, a great night. Thank you to the Hospitality Committee, the Judges and to all that entered and to all who came to enjoy the chili!

We are quickly approaching summer and that means VBS!

Registration is currently open and can be done online at www.fbcseabrook.org, click the VBS icon on the main page. Our VBS has always been a stretch for a church our size. It takes many volunteers to allow us to offer to our community a free, Monday – Friday, all-day VBS program. We need volunteer teachers and assistant teachers and volunteers for several roles. Volunteer sign-up is available on the bulletin board in the hallway.

This morning, March 18 , we experienced a bit of a problem in the main building of the church. A water heater in the attic developed a bad leak and water destroyed part of the ceiling, several walls and some furniture. It is going to take some time for repairs to be completed. Please be praying for those involved in the work!

    God Bless, Pastor Rob
