The Main Thing

Cory Gardner, Annabelle Gardner, Donnie Dabney, Robert Weldon, Charles Cleburn, Gene Flipse, Chad Winstead.

These are the names of the missionaries being sent out by our church to Puerto Rico on April 8th. They have a very exhaustive list of goals to accomplish before they return on April 16th. Please join me in praying for them without ceasing!

Acts 1:8 - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

The next team to Puerto Rico will be in June.

March flew by! We were busy!

Congratulations to all the entries at this year’s Chili Cook-Off. This was the 18th year!

The top five entries were as follows: #5. Sean Powell, #4. Rachel Kerry, #3. Rob Purdy, #2. Steve Balistreri, Jr. and… drum roll please… For the 5th time, 1st Place, and the People’s Choice Award went to Alli Mayes!!!!!!!

Thanks to all who entered, helped with the set-up, clean-up, and judging!

Records were set at this year’s Resurrection Eggstravaganza! We estimate between 300-400 people came to the event and enjoyed an awesome time!

Congratulations to Joni Rubion and her awesome team of volunteers who make an event of this scale possible! We are truly blessed!

We had several baptisms in March, several new members, many 1st time visitors, and a sweet, sweet Spirit in the church!

We began our Easter worship on Palm Sunday. In both services the children joined us by entering the sanctuary waving palm branches and proclaiming, “Hosanna!”

We had a special Good Friday Service that concluded with the Lord’s Supper.

We met again at dawn on Resurrection Sunday to celebrate the Risen Savior!

    He is Risen, indeed!

And we closed the month with our Easter Services!

April is going to be just as busy!

The Lord’s Supper is scheduled for the 7th. Baptisms are scheduled for the 14th. The Gumbo Cook-Off is on the 24th! Whew!

In our business, let’s remember to keep the main thing, the main thing – Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’”.

    God bless, Pastor Rob
